The Kylie Jenner Lip Featuring Maybelline

For quite a while now, a lot of people have been trying to recreate Kylie Jenner’s famous lips. I love the look she creates with lipstick and liner and thought I’d show you my version of the lip focused look. Apparently, Kylie uses the MAC Lip Liner in Soar, a colour I am yet to try. To create the look I decided to find drugstore alternatives, all of which happen to be from Maybelline. Read about the products I use to create different versions of the look below.

Maybelline Colour Sensational Lip Liner in Velvet Beige – £3.99 at Boots

This lip liner is literally the perfect colour for creating the Kylie Jenner lip. It’s the best liner I’ve found at the drugstore. You could use this alone to recreate the amazing pinky-nude lips that Kylie sports on a daily basis or pair with lipstick, which is what I usually do. I find it to be a little drying when worn alone.

Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipstick in Choco Cream – £6.99 at Boots

This thick, creamy lipstick is a light brownish, pink colour that I use to create a less intense, pinky version of the Kylie Jenner lip. This shade appears quite sheer on the lips but works amazingly with the liner. Maybelline have an extensive range of nudes that would also work well for this look. Read my full review of these lipsticks here.

Maybelline Super Stay 14HR Lipstick in Lasting Chestnut – £6.99 at Superdrug

I like to use this lipstick to create a darker nude lip, like Kylie sometimes wears. This lipstick gives the lips a deep reddish, brown tone. I wear this lipstick with either nude or mascara only eyes and a light base. It’s quite a vampy, dark shade so the lips should be the focus of the look.

Maybelline Colour Drama Velvet Lip Pencil in Nude Perfection – £4.99 at Boots

Applying this pencil to the lips after the liner gives a gorgeous, real nude, matte finish. I love the velvety formula of these crayons, they feel so soft on the lips. The only thing I don’t like about these is that their quite hard to sharpen and getting a nice sharp point to work with is very difficult. They usually can’t be used straight from the bullet.

Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate Review

A couple of weeks ago I received a surprise parcel from the New York skincare brand, Kiehl’s. Inside contained their newest and yet to be released formulation, The Daily Reviving Concentrate*. I am a huge fan of Kiehl’s skincare and couldn’t wait to try out their latest product. Read my review below.

The Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate is marketed as a revitalising blend of ginger root, sunflower and tamanu oils to help correct the visible appearance of skin fatigue. The lightweight, quickly absorbed facial oil protects skin against daily environmental aggressors. Benefits of using the concentrate should include reduced dullness, a reduction in lines and improved skin texture. Skin will feel energised and radiant everyday.

Everyday since I received this concentrate, I’ve been applying 2-3 drops of it onto cleansed skin before my moisturiser, as the directions state. At first, I feared it that it may give a greasy look to my makeup but the oil sank in beautifully and was traceless by the time I came to apply my base products. I also thought it may clog up my pores but as all the oils used are natural, it didn’t cause any breakouts. It gave a lovely fresh and dewy look to my face which I love. I feel like it also helps my moisturiser to absorb better and a lot quicker. My skin doesn’t always look radiant and glowing (due to my dry/combination skin type) but this oil really brightens up my face. I have also noticed that using this has improved my skin texture. It’s given my face a much softer and nicer overall look.

Kiehl’s also sent me a mini sample of the Midnight Recovery Concentrate*, which I’ve never actually tried before. I’ve found it to be a great product for my dry skin. It deeply moisturises my face and skin actually seems to look healthier by morning. Something I’ve never experienced with a product before. I’ll definitely be purchasing a full size once I’ve finished this.

The Daily Reviving Concentrate will be released in September and will cost £36. I love this product and definitely recommend trying it. Will you be purchasing it when it’s finally released?
