Influenster UK Max Factor VoxBox Review

Swatches – Pearl Maron (left) and Honey Nude (right)

Recently Influenster (a US based gifting/review platform) expanded into the UK and started producing UK exclusive VoxBoxes. A VoxBox is a box filled with full-sized products that are sent out to users of the site randomly. Influenster gift these products in exchange for a review. If you aren’t signed up already, you definitely should! I was lucky enough to be chosen to receive their first VoxBox, which focuses on the lips. As you can probably imagine, I was very excited when it arrived on my doorstep. The Max Factor VoxBox* contains three of the brands most coveted lip products, which when used together create the perfect lip. The Universal Lip Liner*, Colour Elixir Lipstick (Pearl Maron)* and Honey Lacquer (Honey Nude)* were all included in the box (so generous)! Check out my review below to see what I thought of all the products.

Universal Lip Liner – £4.99

So I wasn’t sure if I would like this lip liner, but actually I love it. That fact that its transparent means I can use it with literally any shade of lipstick to achieve a perfect-looking and long-lasting lip look. Isn’t that just great? I had never tried a lip liner of this type before, although I really wish I had (it would have saved me buying so many coloured lip pencils in the past)! This is definitely going to become a staple in my routine. My lipstick doesn’t bleed, feather or smudge at all when wearing this. I can re-shape and define my lips very easily and it keeps the colour fresh on my lips all day.

Colour Elixir Lipstick in Pearl Maron – £7.99

Your lips seem to shimmer when wearing this lipstick, it looks absolutely stunning. I don’t know if every one of these lipsticks has the same effect, but I love this pearly coral colour, it’s so pretty (and a shade that would suit everyone)! The vibrant colour instantly glides onto the lips with one stroke, no layering up is needed. It’s a formula designed with vitamin E which helps lips keep conditioned. It leaves them beautifully smooth and soft, they never feel dry at all. The imprint on the bullet looks lovely. This extra touch just makes the product seem so much more expensive than it actually is.

Honey Lacquer in Honey Nude – £9.99

The Honey Lacquer is very moisturising on the lips (it feels like a balm) and smells incredible. They sent me the perfect shade too, nudes are my favourite to wear for an everyday look. It’s more of a pinkish/brown type nude, which I personally think look more natural than traditional nude shades. The Honey Lacquer is a super shiny gloss, but has the colour of a lipstick. It’s great for me as my lips tend to get a little dry when wearing lipstick, so this is a superb alternative. The packaging of all the products is so pretty, but I especially love the honey-comb inspired gold top of this lacquer!

Pick up this trio on a 3 for 2 deal at Boots while you still can!

AINSEL Costume Lipstick Review

As a beauty blogger, nothing excites me more than hearing about a new beauty brand (especially when they solely focus on lip products)! AINSEL (old English for ‘myself’), is a digital beauty brand that promotes self-love and individuality. They are all about being yourself and loving who you are (something we could all do more of). They want their products to make you feel confident and help you embrace your own style. They kindly sent me over one of their lipsticks to try. Read my review below

AINSEL have launched their beauty brand with a capsule collection made up of eight gorgeous lipstick shades. Each lipstick is handmade in their London lab and are all 100% cruelty free (which is something I absolutely love about this brand). Each and every shade is season-less and instead inspired by fashion. No more only wearing brights in Summer and berry tones in Winter! Whatever you’re wearing, AINSEL will have the perfect shade for you. I was sent the Costume lipstick*, a lovely purple shade (the darkest in their current collection). The lipsticks should give a matte finish but never leave lips feeling dry, always creamy and hydrated. They are bold, richly pigmented and should give a lovely plush look to the lips. Long-lasting and lightweight – sounds like the perfect lipstick formula to me!

Okay so first of all, this packaging is just beautiful! I’ve never seen anything like it before. It’s such a simple but elegant idea, and looks so special. The transparency is great for easily picking the right shade of lipstick too. It’s chic, modern and unique just like the brand itself. Once I got over how brilliant the packaging was, I applied the lipstick to my lips straight from the bullet. It only takes one swipe to achieve full opaque colour, it’s extremely pigmented. With dark shades like this one, I think this is pretty important and it’s wonderful as it means you don’t have to layer it up so much to achieve the colour you want. The shade is really glamorous and looks amazing on the lips. It gives a mysterious feel to your appearance. Purples are one of my favourite lipstick colours and this is probably going to be my go-to from now on. It feels super creamy and moisturing on the lips, even though it looks matte. Most matte lipsticks tend to be slightly drying. I haven’t noticed that with this AINSEL lipstick. The colour lasts the whole day, except for when eating and drinking of course. A given with any lip product. I probably applied it 3-4 times during the day. AINSEL only use natural ingredients in their lipsticks and they smell absolutely beautiful for it. It has a vanilla/coconut type of scent, and I can’t get enough of it. I will definitely be buying a few more shades of this gorgeous lipstick. Button Up and White Tee are next on my list.

Costume is available to buy from AINSEL for £19.50, along with the other seven shades in their capsule collection. Check them out on Instagram for their latest products.

Janjira Thai Lime & Ginger Body Butter Review

Don’t you just love a good body butter? I know I certainly do! They’re a great source of moisture and keep the skin looking fresh and feeling supple. Apart from a few in the Soap & Glory range, I haven’t tried many. I thought it was about time that changed. When I was asked if I’d like to review the Janjira Thai Lime & Ginger Body Butter*, I jumped at the chance. I’ve never brought anything from the all-natural, Thai skincare brand before, so when I received the product a couple of weeks ago, I was very excited to try it out. Check out my review below.

Janjira create the most luxurious spa-inspired products, that are designed to balance the body, mind and spirit (with a focus on inner beauty as well as outer). Not something most brands consider. The Thai Lime & Ginger Body Butter (just one product in an amazing range) is intended to help replenish and moisturise the skin with natural nutrients. It should absorb quickly, give long-lasting hydration and provide anti-aging effects. With ingredients such as Shea Butter and Avocado Oil, the butter is perfect for those who wish to give their skin a radiance boost. I’m definitely in need of that, so let’s see what this body butter can do!

As soon as I received this product, I knew I was in for a treat. The packaging, the smell of the product, the consistency of the butter, everything made it feel so luxurious. I wasn’t expecting the pot to be so large, you actually get a lot of product to use. It will last quite some time I imagine. As the cream is pretty thick, you don’t need much to fully cover the skin and completely moisturise whichever area you choose. I’ve used this over my whole body at least a few times a week since receiving and have hardly used much of the product at all. Once applied, the product made my skin look rejuvenated. It easily smoothed out drier patches on elbows and knees etc and gave a beautiful feel to the skin. It seemed to really enhance the look of my skin too, it was glowing. The butter absorbed pretty quickly and didn’t leave me feeling oily or sticky at all. The lovely hydrating feel lasts a long time, at least a full day. Quite impressive, none I’ve tried before have lasted that length of time. The beautiful, strong and exotic citrus scent also lasts quite a while. I would catch whiffs of it throughout the day, which was rather nice as it’s super refreshing. It has already become a staple for me and I will definitely be purchasing another pot when this one finishes.

You can buy the Janjira Thai Lime & Ginger Body Butter for £26.00 direct from their website along with the rest of their products.
